MLW Fury Road 2024 Results (5/18/24): Matt Riddle Takes On Sami Callihan

MLW Fury Road Results – May 18, 2024

Saturday night’s MLW Fury Road special kicks off with a recap of their Azteca Lucha event.

Jake Crist defeated Brett Ryan Gosselin

  • Jake Crist catches Brett Ryan Gosselin in a front-forward rollup to score the pinfall victory.

Gosselin attacks Crist after the match and has to be pulled off Crist by the referee.

AKIRA defeated Bobby Fish

  • AKIRA hits Bobby Fish with the Death Penalty to win the match by pinfall.

Matt Riddle is backstage. Riddle selects his number for Battle Riot out of the Tumbler and says it’s pretty good. Riddle says he’s facing Sami Callihan tonight, and he doesn’t understand why he’s always talking about his hog. The Original Bro says he’s going to beat Callihan up tonight and get the win.

Riddle says he has a lot he wants to accomplish, and one of those things is winning the MLW World Championship. Riddle believes Battle Riot is the perfect way to accomplish this goal.

MSL joins the commentary team for the next match. AJ Francis appears on the Tron before Alex Kane’s opponent is announced and says he didn’t think coming to Chicago was worth his time so A-Game is going to take care of things for him.

  • Alex Kane locks A-Game in Fade to Black to win the match via submission.

AJ Francis lays out a challenge for Battle Riot

Mr. Thomas grabs MSL and tosses him into the ring after the match. MSL tries to pay them off, but Thomas knocks the money out of his hands. Thomas and Kane grab MSL set to do a double-team move as AJ Francis appears back on the Tron.

Francis says if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. Francis challenges Alex Kane to a Ritual Combat match for the throne of Bomaye at Battle Riot on June 1. Alex Kane says he’s going to beat his ass.

Mads Krule Krugger defeated Matthew Justice in a Falls Count Anywhere Match

  • Mads Krule Krugger throws Matthew Justice off the balcony and through a table to score the pinfall victory.

Somehow, Justice is up after the match and continues to brawl with Krugger at ringside and into the backstage area before getting taken out by Janai Kai, who reveals herself as the newest member of CONTRA.

Janai Kai defeated Delmi Exo, Miyu Yamashita, and Zayda to retain the MLW World Featherweight Championship

  • Janai Kai locks Zayda and Miyu Yamashita in a double Dragon Sleeper. Zayda taps out for Kai to retain.

MSL is in the back trying to eat a sandwich while holding the MLW World Championship he stole from Satoshi Kojima. Kojima shows up and knocks MSL down and stomps on him before taking his title back. 1 Called Manders shows up and hypes up his match with Kojima later tonight; the two men shake hands.

Matt Riddle to face Sami Callihan on MLW Fury Road up next

Sami Callihan is backstage and says he’ll beat Matt Riddle within an inch of his life tonight. Callihan says Riddle isn’t going to come into MLW and take his spot. Callihan says the only way this ends between them is with Riddle laid out in the middle of the ring.

  • Matt Riddle and Sami Callihan wrestle to a double countout.

Bad Dude Tito is backstage taking out Azteca henchmen until he finally finds Cesar Duran. Tito wants to know where Salina de la Renta is. Duran threatens to stab him with a knife, and Tito eventually leaves.

It’s announced that CONTRA will unveil a new member of their faction during Battle Riot VI.

Satoshi Kojima defeated 1 Called Manders to retain the MLW World Heavyweight Championship

  • Satoshi Kojima hits 1 Called Manders with two lariats to score the pinfall victory.

CONTRA comes out and attacks Kojima and Manders. Matthew Justice and AKIRA run out to make the save. Most of the locker room eventually clears out to preview Battle Riot VI as Fury Road goes off the air.
