Lyra Valkyria On Loss To Nia Jax: I Know Now I Can Hang With The Best

Lyra Valkyria expressed her disappointment after her loss at WWE King and Queen of the Ring. That being said, she felt confident that she proved she belonged.

At WWE King and Queen of the Ring, Lyra Valkyria lost to Nia Jax in the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament. The former NXT Women’s Champion had defeated IYO SKY to advance to the finals, but Jax emerged victorious.

In a digital exclusive, Lyra Valkyria commented on her loss.

“It was all right there,” Lyra Valkyria said. “I felt so good, felt so confident, and obviously now, not only did I lose the chance to be Queen of the Ring, the chance to go to SummerSlam, I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. I would say that success is going from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm, but right now, it’s a hard one to stand up after.

Interviewer Kayla Braxton encouraged Lyra Valkyria to giver herself grace, given her run up to this point. She agreed and noted that she proved that she belonged.

“You’re so right,” Valkyria said. Who comes to Monday Night Raw and gets this far in their first month? I know now I belong in that spot. I know now I can hang with the very best. This is just the start of Lyra Valkyria’s journey. I’ll get back to where I was, and next time I get a shot, I’ll make sure I come out on top.”
