Jon Moxley will defend the gold at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
At NJPW Dominion, Jon Moxley defeated EVIL in a Lumberjack Match to retain the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. After the match, he issued an open challenge for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Tetsuya Naito answered the challenge, setting the stage for a buzzworthy bout at the pay-per-view.
Moxley defeated Naito at NJPW Windy City Riot to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. He has defended the title against Powerhouse Hobbs, Shota Umino, Ren Narita, and EVIL.
Naito is a four-time world champion in NJPW and a three-time G1 Climax winner, among other accolades.
