Tony Khan Comments On Recent Trademark For AEW: Shockwave

It has been a very busy couple of weeks for All Elite Wrestling.

On August 25th, AEW had its second All In pay-per-view in London at Wembley Stadium. This past Saturday Night, the promotion had another pay-per-view, the annual All Out event.

In addition to these events, it was also reported that the promotion had filed for a new trademark called AEW: Shockwave. The President of the promotion, Tony Khan recently addressed the trademark.

Fightful reported that AEW had filed for a new trademark, AEW: Shockwave. The report also mentioned that the trademark was filed for the purpose of “Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests.”

During the post-show Media Scrum after AEW All Out, Wrestling Observer’s Corey Lee asked Tony Khan about the trademark filing. The AEW President mentioned that the promotion is set to create a ‘Shockwave’ in the wrestling business. He also mentioned the success his company has seen in the past few weeks alone.

“I think it would be safe to say that AEW is set to create a ‘Shockwave’ throughout all professional wrestling. And I think people tonight are going to be talking about what they saw at AEW All Out which was a huge business success for us. Did really really well here at the NOW Arena. Big sellout show and also really well on pay-per-view. And I think it bodes really well and creates a lot of anticipation for what’s going to happen Wednesday Night on Dynamite on TBS. And we’ll continue to send that ‘Shockwave’ through the world of professional wrestling here in AEW,” Tony Khan said.

Despite addressing Lee’s question, Khan didn’t give a clear picture of what the trademark is about.

Do you think Shockwave will be another upcoming pay-per-view?
