Ethan Page: I’ll Defend NXT Title Two Weeks In A Row If It Leads To A Match With Randy Orton

“All Ego” Ethan Page is all for a match with Randy Orton.

As an 18-year veteran of the professional wrestling business, Ethan Page has faced a variety of legends, rookies, and fellow veterans. Currently, though, Page is eyeing a contest with one of WWE’s most decorated world champions, Randy Orton. During a recent appearance on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Page further outlined Orton as a top dream opponent.

“[The possible dream match] is probably Randy Orton. Yeah, I would say that is the [dream]. I mean, one of the best ever past 20 years here. How many more does he have? I don’t know. I mean, if I look at him, I’m gonna think a lot looks like a million dollars. He’s the guy. I mean, he’s the bar as far as how you want to be as a wrestler, he’s great. The Rock is obviously numero uno. I don’t know how many more matches he plans on having. I don’t know how many Egos Edges he has left in his career.”

Looking ahead, Page is slated to defend his WWE NXT Championship against Trick Williams on the October 1 episode of NXT, which emanates from Chicago, Illinois. The following week in St. Louis, though, Page pointed out that he is not currently booked. As such, Page proposed the idea of defending his title against “The Viper” himself, who hails from the very city of St. Louis.

“Miz TV will be on the first episode [of NXT on the CW Network], October 1st. Then October 8th we’re going to St Louis, where we might see my dream match, who knows,” Page said. “I’ll defend the title two weeks in a row, all I’m saying … I’m just hoping the voices [Orton] is hearing are telling him to wrestle me.”

Should Orton challenge Page for the NXT Championship on October 8, it will mark his second match of the evening. The first will see Orton face off with NXT newcomer Je’Von Evans.
