Jey Uso discusses how many people have been doubting him ahead of WWE WrestleMania 41.
Uso’s Royal Rumble win sparked plenty of controversy, as plenty of critics were skeptical of the move. He is set to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, and the conversation has continued as the show has drawn closer.
Speaking on the Raw Recap podcast, Jey Uso was asked about the discourse surrounding him heading into WrestleMania, with many fans questioning if he belongs in the world title match.
“All I know is, Uce, I’m in a job where I do get critiqued a lot,” he said. “Gotta have tough skin. Gotta know how to take criticism. At the end of the day, though, I’m human too. I bust my ass to get to this spot. I’m telling you right now, I’m going to take it. Doubt me now. Do what you do. I got my fans behind me, Uce. I got my brothers, my family behind me.
“That’s all I need right now. I’m telling you, I’m going to shock the world twice. I’m shocking the world two times. I tripped and fall, had a little bit of stumble, but you know me. I’m gonna catch myself and come right back up, Uce. That’s always been my career. That’s me. They saw me come from the bottom, and I’m still trying to eat. I’m still trying to go out there and get it. Still trying to prove myself every single week. That’s that.”
Jey Uso Is Taking It Day By Day
Uso also made it clear that he was trying to stay above water, and he was taking things day by day.
“All I know is, I’m just trying to stay above water as every day goes by, leading closer to WrestleMania,” Jey Uso said. “I ain’t never had this kind of mindset. So I’m dealing with that. But I really feel like, enough with all the bright colors, enough with trying to entertain. I don’t know. All I know is, at WrestleMania, I have to beat Gunther because if I don’t beat Gunther, that’s it for Jey Uso. So everything’s on the line right now. I’m taking it day by day.
