Gable Steveson Shares What Is Next for Him After NCAA Title Match Upset

One of the wrestlers who was believed to be a top star in WWE was Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson. He had wrestled a few matches in WWE. Unfortunately, last year Steveson was released from his WWE contract. He then signed with NFL’s Buffalo Bills. But then, in August of last year he was released by the Bills.

On March 22, 2025, Gable Steveson competed for the NCAA World Heavyweight Championship, but unfortunately, he was unsuccessful.

Despite compiling a 27-0 record this season, Wyatt Hendrickson shocked the world when he beat Steveson in the NCAA Championship heavyweight finals this past weekend. Steveson is a 2020 Summer Olympic gold medalist, and two-time NCAA Division I national champion. He also had his 70-match unbeaten streak snapped by Hendrickson.

Recently, while speaking to Pat McAfee on the Pat McAfee Show, Gable Steveson revealed that he has been training in multiple forms of combat sports. He has been boxing, taking up Jiu-Jitsu Classes, and he’s also trying his best to get ready for his MMA career. Steveson also shared that he has not put an end to his NFL career either. He’s been receiving calls from a few teams.

“The sun always comes up the next day. That’s a saying that everyone’s always talked about. But what’s next for me is, I’ve been boxing, I’ve been putting on the gloves, doing jiu-jitsu classes, trying to get ready for an MMA career, or right after I stepped off the mat Saturday night, just a couple calls from a few new teams in the NFL. The roads keep opening, and I’m just so happy that I can go out there and put on my best performance,” Gable Steveson said. [H/T Fightful.com]
