Bret Hart is set to make history with his 2025 ‘Immortal Moment‘ WWE Hall of Fame Induction.
WWE is introducing iconic matches and moments to the Hall of Fame in April 2025. Bret Hart versus Stone Cold Steve Austin from WrestleMania XVIII is set to be the ‘Immortal Moment’ in the HOF Class of 2025.
“The first-of-its-kind recognition pays homage to their seminal moment at WrestleMania 13 in 1997 at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago, where Austin became an unlikely hero thanks to a gutsy, albeit losing, effort against Hart in a ‘Submission Match’ that featured Ken Shamrock as a special guest referee,” WWE said in a statement.
Hart vs. Austin is the first wrestling match to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. However, it also marks a monumental achievement for The Hitman, as he becomes the first-ever three-time WWE Hall of Fame inductee. He got a solo induction in 2006 and went in with Jim Neidhart as The Hart Foundation in 2019. He has also inducted several people into the WWE Hall Of Fame over the years. This includes Pat Patterson, Buddy Rogers, and his father, Stu Hart.
Hart’s co-recipient, Steve Austin, will become a two-time Hall of Famer with the ‘Immortal Moment’ induction. Austin was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009.
Steve Austin responds to WWE Hall of Fame induction with Bret Hart
Steve Austin recently appeared on American Icon Autographs. There, he reacted to his second Hall of Fame induction announcement as part of the ‘Immortal Moment’ with Bret Hart.
“It was a hell of a match and we knew it at the time. I think it was good that it was in Chicago because Chicago is kind of a stronghold for me. But it would’ve worked anywhere with the fact that it happened with Bret The Hitman Hart. There’s a couple behind-the-scenes stories that I don’t want to talk about. But it was a hell of a match and it’s cool for people to still remember it damn near 30 years later. Yeah, it means something to me because if it wasn’t for the fans, I wouldn’t be sitting here. So, the fact that match is relevant and it’s going into 2025 Hall Of Fame for matches and it’s the first match to be inducted, cool,” Austin said. [H/T Fightful]
