WWE Raw Results:

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther power walks to the ring. On commentary, Michael Cole notes that his interview with Gunther was scheduled for later tonight.

The Champ and Cole

Cole asks Gunther a question, but Gunther goes off on how Jey Uso means nothing and everyone who stands with him isn’t worth a damn. The crowd Yeets at Gunther. Gunther tells Cole screw his questions and goes on a super rant about being the greatest champion of all time. Two weeks ago, when he took a bath in Jimmy Uso’s blood, he was in complete control of his emotions, and he loved it. Gunther can’t wait to call his mother to tell her how much he enjoyed destroying Jey Uso. Gunther tossed the mic, and Power walked away.

Grade: B

Gunther showed fire here that he hasn’t in ages. This was quality stuff. Gunther sold this match well and laid the groundwork for why he will lose at WrestleMania. Jey and everything about him gets under Gunther’s skin. Gunther will lose control, and Jey will take advantage. The story writes itself.

Liv Morgan w/Raquel Rodriguez vs. Bayley w/Lyra Valkyria

Morgan and Bayley take turns countering each other. Bayley sends Morgan into the corner with a buckle bomb. Morgan kicks out. Morgan dives off the top into a stunner. Bayley-to-Belly by Bayley. Morgan’s bodyguard puts Morgan’s foot on the bottom rope to break the pin. Bayley DDTs the bodyguard. Morgan sets up Oblivion. Valkyria holds Bayley in place to block the hold. Bayley rolls up Morgan for the win.

Winner- Bayley

Grade: C+

Bayley and Morgan have had better matches in the past, and all the outside of the ring shenanigans seemed forced… because they were. Look, this tag title match at WrestleMania is just silly. It was thrown together two weeks before the show, and instead of featuring an actual tag team challenging for the titles, it’s a thrown together team that has no real connection to each other. Make it make sense. This writer still fully expects something to happen to Bayley, so Becky Lynch has to take her place.

Rey Mysterio w/LWO vs/ Julius Creed w/American Made

Creed works Mysterio’s arm. Mysterio tries to fire up but gets run over by a shoulder block. Rana by Mysterio. Creed turns Mysterio inside out with a lariat. Both teams get involved. The referee ejects LWO and American Made from ringside. After the break, Mysterio tries a dive, but Creed catches Mysterio in mid-air. Creed walks Mysterio up the ring steps in a verticle suplex. Mysterio escapes. El Grande Americano runs down to ringside. Mysterio grabs Americano and tries to pull off his mask. Creed makes the save. Mysterio hits a 619 and splash on Creed for the win.

Winner- Rey Mysterio

After the match, Americano attacks Mysterio. American lands a diving headbutt with the loaded mask.

Grade: B

Fun, quick match that devolved into chaos. The Americano interference was telegraphed a bit too hard, but they have tried to make people feel something about this angle.

AJ Styles vs. Karrion Kross w/Scarlett

As the bell rings, Kross and Styles argue. Kross pushes Styles. Styles drives Kross into the corner and lands a few strikes. Kross trips Styles into the ropes. While Kross distracts the referee, Scarlett chokes Styles using the bottom rope. Kross works over Styles. Styles fires up. Kross twists his ankle. The referee checks on Kross. Styles gets too close, and Kross decks him. Kross laughs at Styles. Styles lands a flurry of offense. Kross cuts Styles off with a DDT. Styles ducks the Kross Hammer and lands an Ushigoroshi. Styles lands his finish for the win.

Winner- AJ Styles

After the match, Logan Paul appears. Kross attacks Styles from behind. Logan Paul knocks Styles out with his loaded punch. Paul hits the Pulverisor on Styles.

Grade: B

This may have been Kross’ best match on the main roster. Styles gave Kross a lot tonight, and hopefully, this will lead to Kross getting more in-ring time. Don’t get this writer wrong; the backstage stuff is enjoyable, but the money is made in the ring.

Backstage, Paul Heyman is still waiting for Roman Reigns to arrive.

YEET!

Jey Uso makes his way to the ring via the crowd. Jey stands on the commentary desk. Jey says he came out here to talk to the people. Everyone wants to know where his mind is at. He’s crashing out, but he’s locked in for his family. Listening to Gunther come out here and talk showed Jey that Gunther is afraid. Gunther is afraid of losing to him at WrestleMania. Jey promises he’s going to get Gunther at WrestleMania. Jey drops the mic, and Yeets with the crowd.

Breakker runs down the ramp. Carlito runs away. Breakker runs over Bálor, causing a disqualification.

Winner- Finn Bálor

After the match, Breakker Spears Dominik and Carlito at the same time. Breakker tries to Spear Penta, but Penta lands a series of kicks.

Grade: B

Fun match. Carlito running away from Breakker should happen on a weekly basis.

Heyman is still waiting for Reigns in the parking lot. CM Punk walks up and sits with Heyman. Punk says he’s never seen Heyman so stressed, but he’s going to ease his mind. Punk asks Heyman to look into his eyes and tell him what he sees. Heyman looks confused but responds, “The cult of personality?” Punk laughs and says no, Heyman should see a true friend who wouldn’t put him in harm’s way. A truck pulls up, and Roman Reigns gets out of it. Reigns sees Heyman and Punk and ignores them. Heyman tries to get Reigns’ attention, but Reigns just keeps walking.

The ONLY Tribal Chief

While Reigns walks to the ring, Heyman trails behind him. Once in the ring, instead of taking the mic that Heyman is handing him, Reigns goes and gets his own mic instead. Reigns tells the crowd to acknowledge him. Reigns puts over the crowd for being loyal to their Tribal Chief. The crowd chants, “You f’d up,” while Reigns asks Heyman why he betrayed him. Heyman is saying it wasn’t a betrayal; he is paying back a favor that he owed. Reigns notes that he’s getting screwed here. He doesn’t owe a favor; he didn’t ask for any help. Why does Reigns have to cover the tab for Heyman’s dumbass favor?

Seth Rollins’ music hits, and he saunters down to the ring. Rollins says Reigns is finally starting to get “it, ” but he still has to end Reigns at WrestleMania. Rollins exclaims that their triple-threat match at WrestleMania is history’s most significant triple-threat match. The winner will define this business moving, and it can’t be Reigns or Punk. Also, favors are a choice. They don’t happen by accident. Rollins chose not to put Heyman in the hospital last week. Heyman won’t be in Punk’s corner by chance; it was a choice.

Rollins asks Reigns the question: why is Heyman choosing Punk over him? Reigns says Rollins is right. Heyman has made his choice, and so has he. Reigns decks Rollins and tosses him out of the ring. Heyman is ecstatic and proclaims that he acknowledges Reigns. Reigns pushes Heyman to the mat. Heyman is shocked. CM Punk hits the ring and makes the save, clotheslining Reigns over the top. Punk checks on Heyman. Reigns Spears Punk. Rollins hits Reigns in the back with a chair, and levels Punk with a Stomp. Heyman is horrified as Rollins stands tall.

Grade: A

Another great segment between these four. Heyman is poised to swing one of the biggest events in WrestleMania history, and this is essentially a “Paul Heyman on a pole match.” Rollins standing tall here doesn’t bode well for his chances at WrestleMania, but this writer couldn’t be more excited for this triple-threat match.

WWE Raw Review:

This was an up-and-down go-home show with a few solid matches. The main event promo with Rollins, Reigns, and Punk was worth the price of admission, and the best match of the night was Penta vs. Finn Bálor.
