Darby Allin Has Begun His Climb Of Mount Everest

Darby Allin is officially on his way toward the top of Mount Everest.

Allin, who has been training to climb Mount Everest for several months now, has begun his climb up the mountain this month. Adventure Consultants, a New Zealand-based adventure company that offers up guided trips to Mount Everest and other locations, are helping Allin with his trek.

Over on their website, they’ve shared a handful of updates over the past few days on the group’s status.

The journey for Allin and his group officially began on April 8, 2025. This is when the group arrived in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Over the course of this week, the group has traveled closer to the base of Everest. Today, in the group’s latest update, they announced they had hiked from Pheriche to Chhukhung, a village in Nepal.

According to the update, Allin is “doing great,” and tomorrow the group is preparing to continue their acclimatization with the altitude by hiking a hill with a high elevation.

It’s unclear when Allin will return from his trip, but generally, a standard Mount Everest expedition takes about two months. With Allin’s his climb just starting, this means he could be done anytime between June-July.
