The Miz Reacts to John Cena’s Heel Turn: ‘I’ve Known This Forever’

John Cena’s WWE nemesis The Miz claims John Cena has always been a heel.

John Cena stunned the fans when he turned heel at Elimination Chamber: Toronto. Aligning himself with The Rock, Cena ambushed Cody Rhodes. Since then, he’s lashed out at fans and vowed to ruin professional wrestling by winning his record-breaking 17th WWE Championship and retiring with it.

Speaking with TMZ Sports, The Miz reflected on Cena’s shocking heel turn. According to The A-lister, he’s been calling this for years. “Have I been telling everyone that John Cena is already a heel? Since the beginning, do you not remember WrestleMania 27, going into the main event? Do you not remember all the promos that I have cut on John Cena? All the feud that I’ve had with John, you know, all the things I’ve said? I’ve known this forever. But no one believes me because I’m the bad guy.”

“I think John Cena is such a big star that when you are in the ring with him, you need to step up. No matter he’s going bad or he’s going good, you need to catch up with him. You’re not already there. So I think that he’s literally saying putting a stake in the ground going, ‘This is where I’m at. Yeah. Y’all aren’t here, and you are not on my level. Taking a shot.’ And I’ve literally been here this entire time. I’m waiting for someone to step up.”

The Miz believes fans will turn John Cena babyface again

When asked if he thinks John Cena will retire as a heel, The Miz shared his prediction, stating he believes fans will eventually turn Cena back into a babyface. “I feel like the audience is going to like John Cena as heel so much that they’re going to turn him back to babyface, because that’s what they do. That’s what the audience does. You’ve heard ‘Let’s Go Cena, Cena sucks’ for how long? 15, 20 years, you know? And so now, I feel like they’re kind of getting like, ‘Hey, Cena’s going to turn heel. Cena’s going to be a bad guy.’ Now he is. And now they’re going to be like, ‘We like this. Saying all the things you shouldn’t say. Oh, John Cena is being like, oh my god.’ And then they’re going to literally switch him back to being a babyface. They’re going to start cheering him. That’s just what happens. That’s my that’s my prediction.”
