Paul Heyman believes it’s time for the Emmy Awards to bring WWE into the fold.
WWE Superstar Paul Heyman was a recent guest on The Pat McAfee Show. When asked if he thinks award shows like the Emmys should start acknowledging WWE’s contributions to the world of entertainment, Heyman thinks they should and challenges the Emmys to open their eyes and understand what WWE is all about.
“I concur with your assessment,” Paul Heyman said. “I challenge the Emmy Awards to finally open their eyes and understand exactly what’s going on in front of them. It’s not like we’re bicycling tapes anymore in syndication, we’re on Netflix. We’re being covered by ESPN, we are consistently the number one videos on YouTube.
“We are consistently the number one guests on any podcast that has us on. So with that kind of global recognition and acceptance of the beautiful performance art known as professional wrestling, one would think that the Emmy Award people would open their eyes to what’s truly going on in entertainment. And sooner than later, the public will speak up to such a degree that the Emmys will have no choice but to recognize us for our contributions to people’s entertainment.”
