Tama Tonga seems to be the latest addition to WWE superstars currently on the shelf due to injury.
BodySlam.net reported on Tama Tonga’s status, noting the SmackDown is sidelined with an injury and may require surgery.
The report further noted that LA Knight’s attack on Tama was on the SmackDown before WrestleMania was a way to write off the Bloodline member, who (at the time of this writing) doesn’t have a set timetable for his return.
For those unaware, Knight slammed a car door on Tama Tonga’s hand on 4/18 SmackDown, effectively putting him out of action. The Megastar would ultimately drop his United States Championship to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 41 Saturday.
Tama Tonga’s injury could lead to Solo Sikoa vs. Jacob Fatu
Tama Tonga seemed to be the only voice of reason standing between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. With Tama out of action, the much-teased showdown between Solo and Jacob seems inevitable. Jacob had grown increasingly frustrated of Solo for meddling in his business on the road to WrestleMania 41.
WWE may want to pull the trigger on a Jacob Fatu face turn based off the reaction he got at WrestleMania. Solo Sikoa, ideally, would be the perfect foil for Jacob to gravitate towards a babyface run. But what’s in it for Tama Tonga or Tonga Loa, who’s been out of action since he suffered an injury at Survivor Series 2024?
WWE could hold off on Solo Sikoa vs. Jacob Fatu till either one of the Tongans returns from injury. We may not get to Solo vs. Jacob before the Samoan Werewolf runs through the SmackDown midcard roster to solidify his title run.
How would you book Jacob Fatu amid Tama Tonga’s injury? Sound off in the comments!
