For the first time in two years, the IWGP Women’s Championship changed hands as Syuri dethroned the dominant champion Mayu Iwatani.
At All Star Grand Queendom 2025, Syuri challenged Mayu for the belt. It was her second time competing for the title against Mayu, following her unsuccessful attempt at Stardom Ittenyon 2024. Since that loss, she has been vocal about wanting to challenge for the title a second time, as previously reported.
In a hard-fought battle of resiliency at All-Star Grand Queendom 2025, however, it was Syuri who proved to be the more dominant competitor that night. She secured the pinfall victory over Mayu Iwatani with a modified version of her signature Electric Chair Powerslam. The God’s Eye leader was visibly emotional upon being crowned the new champion.
Syuri becomes only the fourth woman in the IWGP Women’s Championship lineage. This win also marked her first singles championship reign in over two years. Her last singles title run was as the World of Stardom Champion in 2022.
Her win was cut short, however, by Sareee. The Sun God attended All-Star Grand Queendom 2025 live to watch the match up close. She expressed interest in challenging for the title next by interrupting Syuri to make her intentions clear. The two previously wrestled to a 30-minute time limit draw at Sareee-ISM Chapter VII.
As of the time of writing, there is no confirmation on when Sareee will officially challenge Syuri for the belt. WrestleZone shall provide updates on the match details as they become publicly available.
