Josh Alexander Says TNA Never Made Him A Contract Offer As A Free Agent

Josh Alexander was open to the possibility of returning to TNA, but he says the promotion never sent him an offer to consider.

Alexander, who is now signed with AEW, spoke with Justin Dhillon of Conversations with the Classic. Dhillon asked Alexander why he chose to join AEW. The “Walking Weapon” explained what made AEW the right fit. He shared that TNA never tried to re-sign him when he became a free agent in February.

“I mean, I had the meeting with TNA a year before, and then they picked up my option. I’m like, ‘OK guys, I’m going to — I’d be doing my family a disservice by not seeing what else is out there from a financial aspect, opportunity perspective. So you guys come to the table with an offer and I’ll definitely [consider it]. I love this place, I love the locker room.’ And part of me is like, I don’t want to leave. But it doesn’t make sense to stay if it isn’t in the same ballpark. They never made me an offer. Ever.

Josh Alexander moved on and says AEW was the right call

“They just took that [as I’m] leaving. I’m like ‘Ok…’ even though we had conversations several times, where I said, ‘Just make me an offer, guys.’ And they just never did. So obviously, I went and talked to two other companies. I had to make my decision there and I chose AEW because it was just the right fit for me, right fit for my family and I’m very happy to be there.

Josh Alexander made his AEW debut on the April 16 episode of Dynamite. He was the “wild card” mystery opponent for “Hangman” Adam Page in the opening round of the Men’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament. Alexander lost to Page, but recently aligned with the Don Callis Family.
