Tony Khan Shows Off His Mic Skills, ‘Guarantees’ AEW PPV Location

Tony Khan made sure Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite taping was newsworthy, even after the cameras stopped rolling.

Khan was seen in a fan-captured video speaking to the crowd assembled at Detroit’s Masonic Temple Theatre. There, he playfully juggled the microphone before teasing AEW would come back to Detroit, this time for a pay-per-view.

“I can guarantee we’re going to do that,” Tony Khan told the elated Detroit crowd. “I just might need a bigger building for that, but I think I know one. In fact, I think I’ve been there before!”

Which arena is Tony Khan referring to?

Tony Khan is likely referring to the Little Caesars Arena in downtown Detroit as the pay-per-view location. AEW has run several events in that arena before. This includes AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts 2022 (and Royal Rampage 2022), as well as the May 10, 2023 episode of Dynamite and the May 13, 2023 episode of Rampage.

However, this would be AEW’s first pay-per-view to take place at the arena, home of the NBA’s Detroit Pistons and the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings.

Khan did not reveal when this PPV would take place. The Little Caesars Arena does not currently have any AEW events listed. However, LCA does have a WWE RAW taping scheduled for July 28.

AEW will travel to Glendale, Arizona for Double Or Nothing on May 25. After that, AEW will be at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas on July 12 for All In, and the O2 Arena in London will host Forbidden Door on August 24. No other AEW PPV event locations have been announced at this time, reportedly due to WWE trying to counter-program with its own events.

Tony Khan recently expressed his interest in potentially expanding the AEW pay-per-view calendar, which currently sits at 9 events each year.
