Grade: B

Based on what this writer has seen from Legacy, it was easy to be afraid that he would move a mile a minute here (in a bad way), but this match started at a reasonable pace and built to its crescendo. The NXT crowd was hot for Legacy here, popping with every step he took. In a short time, the Evolve standout has made an impression on the NXT Universe. Page was vicious here, making it easy to pull for Legacy to win. The former champion Ricky Saints’ appearance is a bit of a shock if you believe all of the reports about his impending call-up to the main roster. What do you all think happens next with Page and Saints? Let us know in the comments!

After a distraction from Spears, Vance plucks Briggs off the top and lands a Dominator for the win.

Winners- The Culling

Grade: C+

It was a solid TV match. It’s odd that Brookes Jensen didn’t figure into the finish, given that he was recently kicked out of The Culling. Inamura has a weird charisma that makes this writer think he should be a singles competitor.

Lash Legend vs. Wren Sinclair

Kelani Jordan joins the commentary desk to watch this match. Legend tosses Sinclair across the ring. Sinclair tries a sunset flip. Legend fights out of it, but Sinclair slips through and traps Legend in a rolling cattle mutilation. Sinclair transitions into an armbar. Legend stands up. Sinclair eats a bicycle kick from Legend. Legend works over Sinclair. Sinclair counters a suplex with a DDT. Legend rolls out of the ring. Sinclair follows. After a series of reversals, Sinclair lands an enziguri. Sinclair goes up top. Legend catches Sinclair and hits her finisher for the win.

Winner- Lash Legend

Grade: C+

Nothing particularly earth-shattering happened here. Legend got to show off her power, and Sinclair got her stuff in as well. The finish seemed a bit off, with Legend seemingly having an issue locking Sinclair in before dropping Sinclair with her finish. Jordan being at ringside didn’t factor in at all, which makes this writer wonder what the point was.

After the match, NXT GM Ava appears and announced they will crown a new number one contender after a series of singles matches. The winner will face Jayne for the championship at Evolution.

Grade: B

This writer has never seen Reid in the ring before. Reid was impressive tonight. Jayne gave Reid a ton tonight. Normally, a champion giving an unknown challenger this much offense would make the champ look stupid. That wasn’t the case here. Jayne showed enough fire to save face after getting run over at the start of this match. There were times during this match when Reid came so close to winning that this writer and the NXT Universe thought we would get the ultimate upset tonight. It wasn’t to be, but Reid will be a fixture in the women’s division moving forward for sure.

Tony D’Angelo and Luca Crusifino vs. The High Ryze (Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe) w/Wes Lee

Crusifino nails Dupont with a leaping knee. Crusifino tries to tag in D’Angelo, but D’Angelo doesn’t even look at Crusifino. Dupont and Tgwe beat down Crusifino. D’Angelo turns around and yells at Crusifino about turning on him. Crusifino claims he wasn’t going to hit D’Angelo. Igwe pushes D’Angelo into Crusifino, knocking him out of the ring. Igwe and Dupont hit their finish on D’Angelo for the win.

Winners- High Ryze

Grade: C+

Winner and STILL NXT Champion, Oba Femi!

Grade: B+

It’s incredible to think that both of these men are so new to professional wrestling. Both Femi and Troy channeled their inner Kaiju and not only destroyed each other but also destroyed the arena as well. We have never seen Femi in this kind of danger since his NXT debut. Troy was impressive, tossing a giant like Femi around like a rag doll. Every time Troy tried a pin, the entire NXT Universe held its breath. Each devastating move to the champion looked like the one that would end Femi’s over 100-day reign with the championship. Whoever agented this match, as well as Femi and Troy, did a fantastic job putting this match together and executing. We need to see these two clash again. Next time, someone needs to go through the ring.

WWE NXT Review:

Overall, NXT was a decent show. Solid in-ring action with a fair amount of storyline progression. The crowd was hot for everything that happened, which isn’t saying much for this crowd, but they were even louder tonight. The NXT Championship match took the match of the night honors, with Oba Femi and Jasper Troy reminding everyone that big, meaty men slapping meat can be amazing when done tastefully. What do you all think about tonight’s episode? Was the main event the best big-man match in NXT history?
