Mercedes Moné Captures CMLL Women’s Title At AEW Grand Slam: Mexico

In a classic match tonight at AEW Grand Slam: Mexico, Mercedes Moné walked out as the CMLL World Women’s Championship.

In a match against Zeuxis at Grand Slam: Mexico, Moné stunned her opponent and the crowd by taking on yet another belt. The match came to an end after Moné and Zeuxis began battling for position to hit a big. Zeuxis looked primed to hit her finisher, but Moné countered, and hit a diving crossbody on the star for the pin and win.

After the match, chaos erupted for Moné. Toni Storm appeared on the jumbotron in a vignette, playing a detective who’s arrived at the arena. Mina Shirakawa then showed up at the top of the ramp, and Storm appeared behind Moné, hitting a german suplex on the star and causing Moné to run off, leading to an all-out chase that AEW officials had to break up.

Despite the chaos, the win for Moné. Not only does Moné currently hold the AEW TBS Championship, but she is also the EWA Women’s Champion, Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Undisputed British Women’s Champion, and the CMLL World Women’s Champion. With her win, Moné also becomes the first and only professional wrestler to have won championships across all of WWE, AEW, NJPW, and CMLL.
