Sareee is unsatisfied with the competitor lineup STARDOM prepared for her in the Blue Stars B block for the 5 Star Grand Prix.
As previously reported, Sareee will be participating in her first STARDOM 5 Star Grand Prix tournament beginning later this month. STARDOM assigned her to the Blue Stars B block, but she expressed her disappointment upon finding out the opponents lined up for her. In the block, she will compete against Momo Watanabe, HANAKO, Hina, Momo Kohgo, Ranna Yagami, Suzu Suzuki, and Konami.
Sareee thinks her block has no good competitors
The IWGP Women’s Champion spoke to Tokyo Sports to publicly voice out her concerns on the tournament. “To be honest, I’m disappointed. I said I wanted to participate because I thought I’d be able to compete against carefully selected strong players. But, first of all, there were too many entrants, and there were no good competitors in my block. Isn’t there no point in having a tournament like this? I wondered who came up with these blocks,” Sareee said. As of the time of writing, three of the eight competitors in her block are still in their rookie years of wrestling.
However, the Sun God noted that Momo Watanabe was the only competitor in her block that she looked forward to competing against. Sareee also felt frustrated that her verbal shots remained unreciprocated as she wished to ignite fire in the STARDOM competitors.
Her blockmate and former 5 Star Grand Prix winner, Suzu Suzuki, responded to Sareee’s comments on Twitter. Suzuki claimed that these comments were simply putting down other competitors to help establish Sareee’s own wrestling identity. She then jokingly said that this was her “switching on”. This alluded to Sareee’s claim that the STARDOM roster was lacking fire and passion.
