Chelsea Green is leaving social media for a bit.
The former WWE Women’s United States Champion is known by many fans to have one of the most entertaining accounts on social media. However, recent events have made Green feel differently about the platform.
Green has come under fire over the past 48 hours for being as open and honest as she could be regarding the passing of Hulk Hogan.
The WWE Superstar posted a series of tweets today explaining her position. And while we thought that was the end of it, it was only the beginning.
Tonight, following SmackDown, Green took to social media to announce that due to the name-calling and death threats she has recently received, she is stepping away from social media, tweeting out:
“I’ve tried to keep my page positive and comedic, but today, a lot changed… and it hit harder than I expected. The name calling, the death threats, the faceless accounts. Social media was supposed to be a fun place and it hasn’t been for a while. It’s been overwhelming and I need to step away for a little bit. Love my PatriHOTS! *salute emoji* *red heart emoji* xo president chels,” Chelesa Green said in a post.
