Dominik Mysterio isn’t happy with his AAA TripleMania XXXIII loss, as he called out AJ Styles and Hijo del Vikingo.
AAA TripleMania XXXIII took place on August 16, 2025, at Arena CDMX in Mexico City. In the main event, El Hijo del Vikingo defeated Dominik Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and El Grande Americano in a four-way match to retain the AAA Mega Championship.
Mysterio nearly won the match after hitting a Frog Splash on Dragon Lee, but AJ Styles interfered before the referee could count three. Styles attacked Mysterio with a Styles Clash, giving Hijo del Vikingo the opening to hit a 630 Splash and score the pinfall on Mysterio to retain his title.
Frustrated by the loss, Mysterio blamed Styles for costing him the championship and made it clear he still has his eyes on Vikingo. In an interview with Más Lucha, he said, “Honestly, I am very angry that this old man (AJ Styles) followed me all the way to Mexico City. Obviously, Hijo del Vikingo shouldn’t have won, I should be the new Mega Champion. Whatever happens, Hijo del Vikingo, I will see you at Worlds Collide.”
During AAA TripleMania XXXIII, it was announced that WWE x AAA Worlds Collide will take place on September 12 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Paradise, Nevada. With Dominik Mysterio now focused on a rematch, it will be interesting to see what happens next.
