WWE legend Natalya has become the first woman to win the prestigious Lou Thesz Award.
Natalya was given the award by the Cauliflower Alley Club, a pro wrestling non-profit, in a ceremony over the week. The Lou Thesz Award is one of the highest honors the club awards, and is given to someone who has had a major impact on the business of wrestling, while also recognizing their in-ring skills.
In a post on her Instagram celebrating the award, Natalya thanked the club, and acknowledged how significant the moment was for her. “To be the first woman to be awarded the prestigious Lou Thesz award means so much to me.” Natalya said. “As Lou Thesz is held as a standard bearer in wrestling.
“Like everything worth spending a life chasing, the wrestling business has never been easy. It’s not easy today. It never gets easy, and if it ever does, I’ll know that’s when it’s time to hang them up.”
The WWE star continues to perform in the ring as well. This week, she took on Becky Lynch in a potentially injury-inducing match for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
