Deonna Purrazzo Highlights The Positives Of Wrestling On Pre-Shows

Deonna Purrazzo has a glass-half-full approach to having matches on pre-shows.

Fans have been asking to see Purrazzo on AEW TV and pay-per-views more frequently. The former TNA/Impact Knockouts Champion hasn’t competed on AEW TV since the February 26 episode of Dynamite. She’s been seen more frequently on Ring Of Honor, but has not wrestled there since the June 21 ROH tapings.

Purrazzo responded to a fan who shared their desire to see her more. They said they believe she deserves more respect than a pre-show match. Purrazzo said she loves working the pre-show, which came as a surprise to some. The Virtuosa went on to clarify her comments, noting that while she loves being on PPVs, a pre-show match is also a great opportunity to bring fans in.

“PPVs are great, don’t get me wrong! For me, it’s not about where you are on the card, just being on it counts! I’ve been pre-show, main event and everything in between,” Deonna Purrazzo wrote on Twitter/X. “But I think the preshow is an opportunity to work in front of a fresh crowd who’s excited to see any kind of wrestling. Plus, often times pre shows are free so who knows how many ppl are watching who can’t/don’t buy the PPV itself!”

Other wrestlers believe the pre-show is a good opportunity

Deonna Purrazzo noted that this was only her personal opinion, but it’s one that’s shared by others wrestlers too. This includes TNA star Trey Miguel, who told a fan that the pre-show is meaningful in a different way.

“I can see why it may seem that way but the preshow means a lot. When we have a ppv and want to capture those last minute buy-ins we use our preshow to grab them,” Miguel wrote on Twitter/X. “So in a way it’s TNA saying, if our card didn’t sell them to buy the ppv, let’s see how they feel after they see Trey!”
