Nick Khan reportedly reached out to Eric Bischoff after Real American Freestyle Wrestling’s latest event.
According to a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bischoff noted that Khan was one of several people to reach out follow RAF’s event on FOX this week. Khan’s message, Bischoff said, simply congratulated the man on the event, and said it was “great stuff.”
“He just said, ‘Hey, man, solid event — awesome, great job,” Bischoff said. When asked about the potential of TKO (which Khan sits on the board of) buying the company, Bischoff said they were probably far off of that, but maybe in a few years.
“There’s been no no discussions beyond that. I think it’s a little early, a little bit,” Bischoff said. “Maybe we got a couple of years before we start having those conversations.”
RAF comes from Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff, and wrestling coach Israel “Izzy” Martinez. The three men intend to launch an unscripted freestyle wrestling league titled Real American Freestyle Wrestling.
Per a press release obtained by Forbes, Real American Freestyle Wrestling is an unscripted freestyle wrestling league involving storytelling and over 40 characters, which so far include former UFC fighter Ben Askren, former national champion Zahid Valencia, former Olympian and world champion Kennedy Blades.
