TNA iMPACT Results

We get a recap of last week’s iMPACT featuring Santino Marella’s big match announcement for TNA Bound for Glory, as well as the return of Nic Nemeth in the main event to take out The Hardys and Mara Sade following their win over Order 4.

Moose vs. AJ Francis

  • The finish of the match saw Moose plant Francis with a spear for the win.

Winner: Moose

After the match, Moose grabs the mic and challenges Mustafa Ali to a match one-on-one at Victory Road. Backstage, Gia Miller with Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards and Brian Myers for their thoughts. Myers says Order 4 took out JDC but he’ll be back—better than ever. Alisha says The System have been TNA’s backbone for a long time, and tonight won’t be any different when Eddie and Myers take on The Nemeths.

Grade: B+

A solid match to kick off TNA iMPACT. Ali’s commentary added more flavor to the brewing drama between The System and Order 4. AJ Francis has improved a lot since coming to TNA. Let’s see what’s next in the saga between TNA’s two biggest and baddest factions.

We get a Rascalz video package ahead of their four-way to determine the number one contender to the X Division Championship. Trey Miguel announces his return with a play on Eminem’s song, Guess Who’s Back. The three take turn arguing who’ll walk out the number one contender. Wentz says it has to be him, technically, because he brought the title to WWE TV. Myron Reed says it’ll be him because he’s the one who’s got to prove himself. Miguel says whoever wins, Leon Slater will be crying in his car after TNA Victory Road.

Joe Hendry vs. Travis Williams

  • The finish of the match saw Hendry plant Williams with the Standing Ovation for the win.

After the match, Eric Young and Judas Icarus try to attack Hendry but he escapes in the nick of time. EY is mad. He tries to take out Williams with a piledriver but Icarus gets in his way. Young tells Icarus to take out Williams. Icarus struggles to act but EY takes him out with a right hand. Young then proceeds to take out both of his protégé with back-to-back piledrivers. The Northern Armory has been cleansed.

Grade: A-

This match was short but did the job of furthering the feud between Hendry and Young. Williams shined in the little offense he got against Joe Hendry. Eric Young’s turn against The Northern Armory was a major surprise. Let’s see where the feud heads next.

We see Matt Cardona backstage calling out Ryan Nemeth for costing him the match against Frankie Kazarian last week on TNA iMPACT. Cardona says nobody in TNA likes Ryan Nemeth. He dares Ryan to stick his noose in his business again.

Victoria Crawford is on stage with a podium. Crawford says it’s time for her own podcast, and her first guest is none other Gia Miller. Miller is stunned but still walks to the stage. Victoria Crawford calls out Gia Miller for allegedly causing Tessa Blanchard’s suspension. Miller says Tessa had it coming after she attacked her at TNA Slammiversary. They go back-and-forth until Jody Threat arrives to stop things from getting out of control. Crawford caps off the her “Mentor You” podcast with an announcement; she’ll be here every week.

Myron Reed vs. Zachary Wentz vs. Trey Miguel vs. Jake Something

  • The finish of the match saw Reed plant Something with a 450 moonsault for the win.

Winner: Myron Reed

Grade: A-

A brilliant X Division Title number one contender’s match. The Rascalz worked like a well-oiled machine against Something. The big man showcased his explosive strength, including hitting a massive Black Hole Slam. Myron Reed’s win came out of nowhere. That being said, this writer is looking forward to Reed versus Slater for the X Division Title at TNA Victory Road.

We see Jake Something backstage contemplating his loss before he gets confronted by Frankie Kazarian. Kaz mocks Something for his loss, suggesting he change his name to “Jake Jobber.” Kazarian says he built his so-called kingdom brick by brick. He then extends an offer for Jake to join hands if he wants to achieve greatness.

Jessie McKay vs. Heather By Elegance

  • The finish of the match saw M provide Heather with an assist for the pin.

Winner: Heather By Elegance

After the match, the Elegance Brand tries to attack The IInspiration but Cassie Lee counters their attack. Santino Marella walks on to the stage. Marella tells M to get ready because she’s going to square off against Cassie Lee in an impromptu match after the commercial break.

Cassie Lee vs. M By Elegance

  • The finish of the match saw Lee plant M with The Inspiral for the win.

Winner: Cassie Lee

Grade: B-

Interesting development tonight with both The IInspiration and The Elegance Brand getting victories against each other. The IInspiration versus The Elegance Brand seems to be the direction for TNA Bound for glory unless we get a title match at Victory Road.

We get a video promo featuring Steve Maclin. Maclin recalls all the success he’s had thus far with the International Championship. He calls out Frankie Kazarian over his tall claims, promising to put an end to Kaz’s self-proclaimed kingdom.

The Elegance Brand confronts Santino Marella ahead of Ash By Elegance’s world title defense at Victory Road at Masha Slamovich. The Personal Concierge tries to talk Santino out of the match but Marella turns the match into no DQ. PC comes up with another excuse only for Marella to insert Indi Hartwell as the special guest referee. Marella makes things more interesting by booking M and Heather to defend their Knockouts Tag Team Tiles against The IInspiration at Victory Road.

Mike Santana arrives for his match next. Santana gets attacked by Trick Williams from behind. The TNA World Champion delivers a beat down on the challenger but Santana fights back. Security arrives to separate the two men. Santana gets escorted backstage and we never get to see his match against the enhancement talent that had been waiting for him inside the ring.

Next week on TNA iMPACT

  • Mustafa Ali vs. Brian Myers
  • Indi Hartwell vs. Dani Luna
  • The IInspiration & Masha Slamovich vs. The Elegance Brand
  • Frankie Kazarian returns with the King’s Speech

The Nemeths (Nic Nemeth & Ryan Nemeth) vs. The System (Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers) w/Alisha Edwards

  • The finish of the match saw Nic Nemeth plant Eddie Edwards with a superkick for the win.

Winners: The Nemeths

After the match, Ryan Nemeth grabs the mic to invoke their rematch clause for the TNA World Tag Team Championship… next week. The Hardys arrive to confront The Nemeths but they escape the ring to cap off the night.

Grade: B+

Methodical tag team action to cap off what was an all-around great night of action and entertainment! It’s always a delight to see Nic Nemeth compete. The System deserve their flowers for carrying TNA throughout these years. Order 4’s interference was anticipated to continue the feud with The Syste

Overall Grade: B+
