The closing image of last week’s episode of WWE NXT will not come to pass tomorrow night at Homecoming.
Last week on WWE NXT, Rhea Ripley, Tiffany Stratton, and Stephanie Vaquer, who are all former NXT Women’s Champions of the past, appeared in the closing moments of Tuesday’s show to challenge Fatal Influence tomorrow night at Homecoming.
Three days later, Stratton would go on to wrestle Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship on SmackDown. The match would end in a double countout, and Nia Jax would appear after the match to attack both competitors.
This evening, NXT General Manager Ava announced on social media that Tiffany Stratton is not medically cleared to compete tomorrow night on Homecoming and will be replaced by Lyra Valkyria, tweeting out:
“After her WWE Women’s Championship Match on SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton is not medically cleared to compete at Homecoming. As a result, former NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria will be taking her place in the six-woman tag team match against Fatal Influence,” Ava said in a post.
It’s unlikely that WWE would advertise such a marquee match for NXT only to pull it at the last minute if the injury wasn’t legitimate.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information on Tiffany Stratton’s status as it becomes available.
