One of the greatest wrestlers of all time is WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. He is one of the veterans in the business who paved the way for the current generation of talent. During his career, the Heartbreak Kid had several iconic feuds. He had wrestled legends like Triple H, The Undertaker, John Cena, and many more. One such iconic feud for Michaels was the one against WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast, Shawn Michaels shared that he had some great matches with the Hitman, Bret Hart. But at the same time, Michaels shared that each wrestler is different in so many ways. He also addressed the question of whether Bret Hart was a greater wrestler than him. Michaels claimed that greatness is more of a mindset. Having that mindset could result in one being more creative and more productive. However, it also hindered him at one point, too.
“Yeah, I had great matches with Bret. But again, I don’t know. I can’t express it enough in that none of those things are really relevant. I think I was great at what I did, and I think other people were great at what they did as well. They’re just different in so many ways. And again, greatness is more a mindset, I think, than anything else. I don’t — if you have that for your goal, I think it’s incredibly productive, and I think it’s incredibly positive.
“But if it’s something that, I don’t know, you base every aspect of your being around it, certainly for me at one time, it wasn’t a healthy thing for me to do, until I was able to do it in a way that I began to apply it to every aspect of my life, whether I achieved it or not.”

During the same interview, Shawn Michaels reflected on his wrestling career and shared some of the names who he thinks he had a great match with.
“Well, look, I don’t know. I guess I would say that I know that I thoroughly love being in there with so many of them. I think because ours is kind of a joint aspect, and so I don’t know. I had great chemistry with so many people, but I think I had great matches with Angle. I had great matches with Hunter, had great matches with Taker, had great matches with Jericho. Heck, had great matches with Jeff Jarrett, numerous other people, and I’m sure I’m forgetting some people,” Shawn Michaels said.
