Tiffany Stratton says she’s doing fine after a recent injury scare.
Stratton recently faced off with Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship on SmackDown. The match ended in a double countout before Nia Jax ran out after the bell and attacked both competitors.
Stratton was set to team with Rhea Ripley and Stephanie Vaquer at NXT Homecoming last week. However, the match didn’t happen as advertised due to Stratton being pulled because she was not medically cleared to compete. According to NXT GM Ava, this was related to her status coming out of the title match on SmackDown.
“After her WWE Women’s Championship Match on SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton is not medically cleared to compete at Homecoming. As a result, former NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria will be taking her place in the six-woman tag team match against Fatal Influence,” Ava said in a post.
Stratton was also planned for a title defense at Wrestlepalooza, at least according to merchandise that had her match featured on it. The match didn’t happen, which led to concern from her fans.
Stratton will return to the ring on Friday, defending her title in a triple threat against Nia Jax and Jade Cargill. She spoke with Going Ringside ahead of the bout and explained why she’d been sidelined. There, she explained that it was more of a precautionary move.
“Physically, I’m OK. Obviously on my moonsault, it was a little bit of a rough landing. However, I was fine,” Stratton explained. “I think it was just more precautionary and kind of just monitoring and seeing if anything was bad about the fall. But for the most part, I’m doing good, I’m great.”
