Penta isn’t closing the door on a Lucha Bros reunion. However, he seems pretty focused on building his name as a singles star in WWE.
The WWE Superstar was a guest on the Battleground podcast, where he was asked about potentially getting back together with his brother, Rey Fenix. Together, the Lucha Bros won the AEW, Ring Of Honor and IMPACT (TNA) World Tag Team Championships. The duo also won other titles throughout North America. However, they were introduced to the WWE Universe separately, with Penta going to RAW, while Fenix joined SmackDown.
Penta was asked if there have been any talks about putting them back together on WWE TV, or if that was something that they are waiting to do at the right time.
“I love my brother, I love Lucha Bros, so now I enjoy my singles career. I think my brother [is] too, because maybe 15 years ago was the last time that we [regularly worked as singles wrestlers]. After that, every single match, every single company, every single everything was together as Lucha Bros. So, I think [as a] tag team, we conquered everything. But now, the most important thing now is here in WWE, the best company in the universe.”
Despite focusing on his singles career, Penta teased a reunion by asking if they could imagine what would happen if “the best tag team in the universe got together again in the best company in the universe.”
Battleground host Tim Battle speculated that a potential ladder match with The Usos would generate interest. Penta shared his excitement and said that was one of his dream matches.
