Vince McMahon Will Have Charges For Recent Crash Dismissed Through Pretrial Probation

Vince McMahon caught a bit of a break in court on Thursday.

McMahon was due in court in relation to a July 2025 car accident that saw him charged with reckless driving. McMahon was driving on Route 15 in Westport, Connecticut, when he caused a collision due to following too closely. Both cars were totaled, although no physical harm was done to McMahon or the other driver.

At the time, McMahon was issued a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving. TMZ Sports reported that McMahon’s lawyer was trying to get the charges dismissed.

That will be the case, provided McMahon does not have any probation violations. According to News 12 (Connecticut) reporter Marissa Alter, Vince McMahon’s request was granted in court. McMahon was granted a pretrial probation program called accelerated rehabilitation. This will see his criminal charges dismissed in a year, as long as he does not violate the terms of his probationary period.

In addition, his lawyer said McMahon sent two apology letters to the people involved, via counsel. He also claimed that this won’t happen again. McMahon must also make a $1000 charitable donation as part of the terms.

Victim in Vince McMahon car crash spoke out about the incident this summer

Barbara Doran, who was involved in the wreck with McMahon, claimed that she and her dog were lucky to have survived. This summer, Doran shared a public Facebook post about being lucky to survive the crash. She also shared more details about the entire mishap.

“Lucky to have survived a horrific car crash on the way up to catch the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard last Thursday morning,” Doran wrote. “Both cars totaled. Vince McMahon @Mr. McMahon /#VinceMcMahon, former chair of WWE, hit me going 80-90mph as I drove in the right lane of the narrow Merritt Highway (built in the 1930s). I and the dog are mostly fine. But was lucky to have kept control of the car, more or less, as I shot off the road after being catapulted over 100 yards. An unmarked state trooper had been following him as he sped in and out of cars down the highway and had just turned his lights on to pull McMahon over, but he was not in time. Both front wheels of McMahon’s Bentley were sheared off, and his airbags deployed, probably saving him from significant injury.”
