Jamie Hayter Brings Her Own Personal Flair To AEW, Talks ‘Blood & Guts’

Jamie Hayter is excited and curious about what’s in store at WrestleDream.

Hayter spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard ahead of her match with Thekla at AEW WrestleDream. The “Toxic Spider” put Hayter on the shelf for a bit, and she’s made some new friends in Julia Hart and Skye Blue. Hayter joked that Thekla should have called her out the “old-fashioned way” by cutting a video promo and sharing her mission statement.

Despite how they got to the match at WrestleDream, Hayter doesn’t blame Thekla for what she did, but warned that “you have to succumb to the consequences of your actions eventually.” She also admitted that Thekla is unpredictable and might not come to the ring alone.

“That would be my first expectation, and again, I don’t blame her for that. It is what it is. If you’ve got friends that have your back like that, why wouldn’t you use them? I wish I could say the same, but she’s very much like myself. I think she just wants to get in there and just hit you as hard as she can, just to prove who the better woman is. And I’m down. I’m always down to do that.

“But she’s a little bit tricky. She’s got some shenanigans up her sleeve, I think. And she’s quick, so I have to kind of be on my toes a little bit with her, I feel. I don’t really know what to expect with her because I’ve never really I’ve not even had, like, a tag match, and she’s been… you know what I mean? It’s just been attacks after matches. So it’s going to be interesting for us to go one-on-one. So I’m excited, but also very curious.”

What’s happening with Hayter’s Blood & Guts challenge?

Hayter has dealt with the Triangle of Madness’s Hart and Blue in singles matches, with Thekla in her sights. However, she also recently called the trio out for a “Blood & Guts” match. AEW announced the match type would return in November, but Hayter’s challenge has not been confirmed yet.

Hayter says she has a few ideas of who could join her team, and believes things will be made clearer as we get closer to the event.

“There haven’t been any formal decisions, as far as I know, on who is on my team yet. You know, there are still some things to think about,” Hayter said. “I also think that there are so many options of who could be on it. It’s quite hard to decide who’s going to be on it.

“So nothing is set in stone just yet, but I believe it will come to fruition,” Hayter added. “It will be more obvious who’s in it. I think it will work out more towards Blood and Guts, which is about a month, just under a month away now. So, I think we’ve got time to put together a team, a good team, the team.”

Jamie Hayter opens up about her new look

After Hayter returned from injury at All In 2024 with a new look featuring red hair and a retro vibe. She praised AEW for allowing her to be her authentic self and said that she wanted to make herself stand out more, which she didn’t believe happened before.

“I wanted to bring my own personal style into wrestling that I had outside of wrestling, that I wasn’t really putting into wrestling before because I didn’t really have much of a style before, like pre-injury. So, I wanted to bring my own kind of flair into professional wrestling. Because I didn’t really look particularly interesting, I didn’t think, or much different from anybody else. I didn’t have my own kind of personal style, [at least]within the wrestling aspect. So, I was like, I just want to bring more of that in.”

Like Hayter, PAC’s surprising new look was also a topic of conversation after he returned at All Out. When asked if she’s surprised that her transformation is still a talking point, Hayter said she doesn’t mind fans reacting to her new look. Hayter said wrestling fans often dislike change, but she believes change is important and keeps things fresh.

“People grow and change, and there’s nothing wrong with changing your look,” Hayter said. “I’m definitely one of those people, and I always have been, who has to experiment with styles and looks. I don’t want to stay one way, you know?”

When asked if she wanted to tease any future looks she might come up with, Hayter played coy and said, “The fun’s more in the surprise, right?”

Jamie Hayter squares off with Thekla at AEW WrestleDream on Saturday, October 18.
