The World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
During the opening segment of RAW last night, Seth Rollins was stripped of the world title due to the injury he suffered at Crown Jewel: Perth. Adam Pearce subsequently announced an over-the-top-rope battle royal for the main event to determine the new number one contender for the title.
The main event saw Jey Uso eliminate Dominik Mysterio to win the battle royal. After the match, CM Punk entered the ring to confront Jey. Punk had previously defeated LA Knight and Jey in a triple threat match to earn his shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. The Straight Edge Superstar was originally set to face Rollins for the title, but WWE scrapped the match due to Rollins’ injury.
Triple H announces huge match for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
Triple H confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that CM Punk and Jey Uso will collide for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in Salt Lake City on November 1, 2025.
“A new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned in Salt Lake City on November 1st. CM Punk vs. Jey Uso. #SNME,” he posted.
Punk hasn’t held the world title since WWE SummerSlam 2025, when he dropped it to Seth Rollins following a Money in the Bank cash-in. As for Jey, he previously won the championship by defeating Gunther at WrestleMania 41, before losing it back to The Ring General on the June 9, 2025, episode of RAW.
WrestleZone will have full coverage of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event when it airs in November.
