Tony Khan: ‘The Door Is Always Open’ For Chris Jericho To Return To AEW

Tony Khan says he’s always open to bringing Chris Jericho back into the AEW fold.

Jericho has not been seen on AEW since April, and it’s been highly speculated that he is entertaining the idea of a return to WWE. Last month, Jericho said he’s still with AEW, but also didn’t rule out a return to his former home.

“I’m still with AEW for right now. Would I go back to WWE? I wouldn’t be opposed to it; we’ll just have to see what happens,” Jericho told Daily Mail at Halloween Horror Nights. “But the best thing that could happen is to have two great teams that you can play for. And that just makes everything bigger and more exciting.”

Tony Khan spoke with Josh Martinez of Z100 New York on Tuesday and said that Jericho has been busy with outside projects. However, implied he’d always welcome him back in AEW when Jericho is free and willing to do so.

“Chris Jericho, talk about one of the founding figures in AEW, the very first AEW Champion. We’re so grateful to Chris Jericho. And Chris Jericho is also somebody also that I would love to see back in AEW, any time. The door is always open to get Chris Jericho back in here,” Tony Khan said. “He’s been busy, he’s been doing a lot of things, speaking of somebody who’s really busy with projects, including filming and music, and somebody we have a ton of respect for. Chris Jericho is somebody we’d love to see any time in AEW.”

During the interview, Khan also shared an update on Britt Baker’s status with the company.
