Andrade El Idolo Highlights The Sacrifices He’s Made For Pro Wrestling

Andrade El Idolo recalls the struggles and sacrifices he endured for pro wrestling.

El Idolo mysteriously disappeared from television after making his shocking AEW return earlier this month. His absence is reportedly tied to a lengthy non-compete clause that WWE enforced following his unceremonious departure.

Former WWE superstar David Otunga suggested that Andrade could take his former employer to court, even stating that the verdict would likely be in his favor. Amid all the commotion over his absence, the former United States Champion remains active on social media, with his latest post reflecting on the hardships of a career in professional wrestling.

Andrade takes a stroll down memory lane

In a new clip shared on X, Andrade took fans on a trip down memory lane, recalling how he earned just $4 for his debut match at age 13 in 2003. He also remembered his late mother, who passed away while he was in Saudi Arabia wrestling Finn Bálor for the WWE Intercontinental Championship a few years ago.

“This is Gomez Palacio, Durango, where I was raised,” Andrade El Idolo said in the video. “I open up to the public so you can see where I started. Things like, where I was born, my parents’ home, my first match. In the place where I made my debut. I used to come here to run, to do my physical fitness. I feel proud to be from Gomez Palacio, Durango. Hope you enjoyed this video.” [H/T: Fightful]
