Jey Uso says he’s still having fun, but he had to change gears a bit to prove he has what it takes to be at the top of WWE.
Uso appeared on this week’s RAW Recap with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant. There, he spoke about his new attitude in WWE. Roberts pointed out that Jey Uso still has the same entrance and involves the fans. However, Roberts said the “joyfulness” is absent from Jey’s face in recent months. Uso said that nothing has really changed before he enters the ring, but once he steps into the squared circle, he had to switch things up a bit.
“Nothing really changed on me, Uce. I still have fun, I still throw a party every Monday. I still like the kids, I still YEET with ‘em. It’s just when the bell rings, Uce, I’ve just got to switch modes now,” Jey Uso explained. “If I’m trying to get to the top, get back to the top, Uce, I’ve got big hitters in front of me. I’ve got guys like CM Punk, a guy like Gunther. Guys like Seth Rollins—get well, Uce—but I’ve got a heavy list in front of me, Uce. And I just can’t play no more.
“I’m tired of people saying I’m ‘just an entrance’ or whatever. [They say] I don’t have skills to hold it down up top,” Uso added. “So, I just switch modes, Uce. I might be going back to the old ways of thinking, Bloodline ways, but that mentality got the job done.”
Jey Uso and CM Punk will face off for the vacant WWE World Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1. The two also met face-to-face on Monday’s episode of RAW; catch up on everything that went down in Anaheim here.
