Mickie James Says Nick Aldis Is ‘Far From Done’ Wrestling

Does Nick Aldis have any gas left in his wrestling tank?

For the last two years, wrestling fans have known Nick Aldis as the General Manager of WWE SmackDown and a backstage producer for WWE. On occasion, Aldis has still gotten physical in the ring, namely being dropped by a pair of RKOs by Randy Orton.

While appearing on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Aldis’ wife and fellow wrestler Mickie James addressed the possibility of Aldis lacing up his boots for another in-ring run.

“Oh, my God, yes. Oh, he’s far from done, James said. “I mean, I think if he was ever given, and I would pray for the perfect opportunity and story or whatever, but I think that if he’s ever given an opportunity to put on his boots and get out in that ring, I know it would be a dream come true for him.”

Aldis last wrestled in a five-way title match at Appalachian Championship Wrestling in October 2023. In the months prior, he made a brief return to TNA Wrestling, where he unsuccessfully challenged for the TNA World Championship.

Across two reigns, Aldis famously held the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship for over 1,000 days. His second one, which began in October 2018, reached 1,043 days.

While Aldis is primarily focused on non-wrestling work nowadays, James remains active in the ring with appearances on the independent circuit. Earlier this month, TNA honored her with an induction into the TNA Hall of Fame.

RAW GM Adam Pearce recently pitched a match between himself and Aldis, noting how they could have some fun with it. James also addressed her own future in the ring.
