WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce has teased an interesting match with a SmackDown star.
During a recent appearance on Gorilla Position, Raw General Manager and former five-time NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion talked about a potential match against SmackDown GM and two-time NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis.
Pearce stated that a match between him and his SmackDown counterpart would be main-event worthy.
“There are two characters, I believe, who are in many ways are carving the same path. However, diametrically opposed, I think, and at odds, and then not at odds, and then at odds again. I don’t know that this is a main event of WrestleMania, but perhaps it’s the main event anywhere else in the world.”
“Indulge me if you will. If you were to put Nick Aldis in his tights and boots, and The Scrap Daddy, Scrap Iron Adam Pearce in the one strap singlet. Goosebumps!”
Adam Pearce Said He And Nick Aldis Discussed The Possibility Of Having A Match In WWE
When host James Darlow insisted that the match has what it takes to be the main event of WrestleMania and asked if Adam Pearce wants to have a big in-ring moment with Aldis in WWE if the story was right, the Raw General Manager responded:
“I would whip his a**! I think the beauty of what we do, and I don’t wanna put words in Nick’s mouth, we, of course, have talked about this, and think it would be funny.”
“What I think is awesome about even the possibility is that it’s more than one group of fans of our business would get to have some fun with that. The people that only know us as the General Managers, because that’s a fun thing, and then the people who know we’re NWA Champions, and probably the two most visible of this generation, and who would win, and so that’s fun to kind of fantasy book in your mind.”
