Sol Ruca Relinquishes Speed Championship On WWE NXT

A couple of weeks ago, Sol Ruca was a double champion; now she has nothing.

Earlier this month on SmackDown, Sol Ruca seemingly suffered a knee injury in a match against the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair. Last week on NXT, Ava allowed Zaria to defend the NXT Women’s North American Championship for Ruca at Halloween Havoc. The match resulted in Zaria losing the title to Blake Monroe.

Tonight on NXT, Ava once again gave Sol Ruca the opportunity to have someone else defend her Speed Championship for her. Ruca declined this time and relinquished the title instead. This decision didn’t sit well with Zaria, who stormed off in frustration. A tournament will be held to crown a new champion in the weeks ahead.

Sol Ruca provided an update on her injury before WWE NXT

Earlier today, Ruca took to her Instagram Stories to provide an update on her injury. While putting over the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge match, Ruca made it clear that she wasn’t cleared yet. However, she stated she will do everything in her power to be at Deadline in December, posting the following message to the WWE Universe.

“Throwback to one of my fav matches… I may not be cleared just yet, but I’m doing everything in my power to be at NXT Deadline,” she wrote.

Despite the injury, Ruca is one of the featured talents on the WWE NXT Deadline poster.

Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information on Ruca’s injury as it becomes available.
