WWE’s new trailer for WrestleMania 42 has left some fans disappointed.
WWE started sharing cryptic videos that showed various figures walking towards the camera, only showing their legs and feet. Fans came up with multiple theories after seeing the teasers.
Some claimed that it could be for returning superstars or for a new faction. However, WWE revealed the real reason behind those videos when they released the trailer for WrestleMania 42. It was a poker-themed trailer featuring Triple H, Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, and CM Punk.
Fans had mixed reactions to the trailer, but it was obvious some of them felt disappointed. The comment sections of the trailer on X and YouTube saw several fans sharing their disappointment, as they had expected something more interesting than a WrestleMania trailer from those cryptic videos. Some of the comments included people asking WWE to create a similar video featuring the female superstars, some being upset that Randy Orton was omitted, and not liking Brock Lesnar’s inclusion, among others.
To be fair, WWE didn’t exactly tease what the videos were for, and fans simply built up their expectations. They were left disappointed that “all it was” was a WrestleMania ad.
Original Plans For Seth Rollins At WrestleMania 42
One major superstar who was missing from the WrestleMania 42 trailer was former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. He sustained a shoulder injury during his match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel: Perth and had to undergo surgery. However, WWE reportedly had some interesting plans for Rollins at WrestleMania 42.
According to a report from F4WOnline.com‘s Dave Meltzer (via Wrestling Observer Radio), WWE had plans to have Rollins face Roman Reigns in a one-on-one match at WrestleMania 42.
“Seth Rollins was tentatively scheduled to wrestle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. I don’t know this, but I have been told enough things to where I expected there to be a turn on Seth Rollins at some point. The whole thing with this faction was not about Seth Rollins. It was about Bron Breakker and making Bron Breakker the next Roman Reigns,” Meltzer explained. “I doubt it was going to be this early.”
