JBL Attacks Velveteen Dream At Indie Wrestling Event

JBL can still throw one Hell of a clothesline.

The WWE legend made a surprise appearance at MCW’s Autumn Armageddon event on Sunday. JBL made a run-in while Velveteen Dream and Joe Keys were setting up weapons for a spot in one of the matches on the card.

JBL walked through the entrance to the ring, where he took out both Keys and Dream, aka Patrick Clark, before leaving. MCW shared footage of the incident, which JBL later commented on by paraphrasing Steve Austin’s “Arrive. Raise Hell. Leave” slogan.

Criticism of booking Patrick Clark stems from past allegations made against him

Many fans in the comments were surprised to learn that Clark was still in the wrestling business, with some questioning why he was still getting booked at all. Those criticisms were related to past allegations made against him during his WWE tenure.

Clark faced several accusations of inappropriate sexual activity and solicitation with minors while he was performing as Velveteen Dream in WWE. He was released by WWE in 2021, but his legal issues continued after his departure. Clark was arrested twice in August 2022 for battery and trespassing charges, and for possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, EC3 accused Clark of trying to film wrestlers’ penises during a party at his home. However, Clark maintained his innocence in the respective cases.

In January 2024, Clark posted a video where he apologized to many of the people he had wronged in the past, including his colleagues at WWE. Earlier this year, Clark said he was owed an apology, noting that his name was dragged through the mud. However, he was never charged or convicted of anything and remained a free man. He also showed interest in a return to WWE and encouraged fans to make enough noise to be heard by the company.

Clark has primarily worked for MCW since leaving WWE, although he has taken a few sporadic bookings with other independent companies.
