WWE’s Plans for WarGames Match and Seth Rollins’ Replacement — Report

New reports have revealed WWE’s updated plans for the upcoming Men’s WarGames match after Seth Rollins was ruled out due to injury.

Initial reports last month suggested the match would feature CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu, Jimmy Uso, and either LA Knight or Jey Uso facing Seth Rollins, Bronson Reed, Bron Breakker, Brock Lesnar and Austin Theory.

However, those plans changed after Seth Rollins suffered a shoulder injury at WWE Crown Jewel Perth. Following his surgery, Rollins is expected to be out of action for about six months. This week’s edition of WWE RAW added another twist when Logan Paul appeared to assist CM Punk and Jey Uso against The Vision.

However, Paul turned on Punk by knocking him out with brass knuckles. He then stared down Paul Heyman and handed him the knuckles. This move further fueled speculation about his new role in the storyline.

F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer shared the latest update (via Wrestling Observer Radio) on WWE’s new direction for the match. He reported that Logan Paul is set to replace Seth Rollins in the WarGames lineup.

“Seth’s replacement in WarGames is going to be Logan Paul. Even though Punk did this thing of knocking Roman Reigns. My gut is they’re still the plan is Punk, Roman Reigns, The Usos, you know, on that team with probably LA Knight as the other guy.” [H/T: 411mania]

He noted that Jacob Fatu was also originally expected to be part of the match. However, he’s currently recovering from surgery. He said, “It could be Jacob if he’s okay to wrestle, but he just had his surgery, so I don’t know if he’s going to be okay by the end of the month.”
