Tony Khan Reveals Which Moment He Thought Darby Allin Went Too Far

Tony Khan says this is the night Darby Allin took things too far in AEW.

During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, AEW President Tony Khan was asked if he ever felt Darby Allin took things too far with the number of dangerous spots he’s been involved in.

Khan responded by praising Darby for taking calculated risks before pointing to the glass spot from AEW Revolution 2024, revealing that it was the one time he thought the former TNT Champion went too far.

“I think he’s a brilliant wrestler, and he takes these chances — normally they’re very calculated chances,” Tony Khan said. “The one that I thought went too far, and I’ve said this to him a hundred times just as I’m saying it to you… In Sting’s last match, with the glass spot in Greensboro — off the ladder and through the glass — that was so much.

Tony Khan let Darby Allin know how he felt about the AEW Revolution spot

“That was the one where I thought maybe it was too much. It wasn’t exactly the way it was described, and it was pretty brutal. That was the one afterward where I said, ‘I think you’re so brilliant about these chances, but this is the first time ever where I thought it was probably too much.’

“But it was also the greatest night in the history of the promotion. He took a huge risk — and it worked out. They won the match. Sting and Darby finished as an undefeated team. Sting retired undefeated in AEW as a World Tag Team Champion. It’s my personal favorite night ever from all the wrestling we’ve done. And Darby was a huge part of that, but that was a big risk to take, for sure.”
