Twisted Metal Starring AEW’s Samoa Joe Renewed For Season Three

Peacock has renewed Twisted Metal, starring AEW star Samoa Joe, for a third season.

According to Deadline, Joe will reprise his role as Marcus Kane (infamously known as Sweet Tooth) in the new season. The former AEW Champion previously physically portrayed the character in the first two seasons of Twisted Metal.

“Peacock has renewed Twisted Metal for a third season, with David Reed (The Boys, Supernatural) taking over as showrunner and executive producer following Michael Jonathan Smith’s exit,” the report stated. “Jonathan Smith was with the show for its first two seasons and has now “concluded his involvement as showrunner and executive producer.'”

Twisted Metal Season 2 “registered 993 million minutes viewed” on Peacock, becoming the streaming service’s “second highest-reaching original returning scripted season.”

Samoa Joe to compete at AEW Full Gear

After failing to beat “Hangman” Adam Page for the AEW World Championship, Samoa Joe is once again back in the title picture. One-third of the AEW World Trios Tag Team Champions won a four-way match on Dynamite to earn a shot at the title.

The fate of the AEW World Championship will be decided in a steel cage. The stipulation was added last week during Blood and Guts after Page defeated Powerhouse Hobbs in their Falls Count Anywhere match.

The updated card is as follows:

  • Big Boom AJ and QT Marshall vs. RPG Vice (Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta)
  • $200,000 Four-way tag team match: The Acclaimed vs. Bang Bang Gang vs. Big Bill and Bryan Keith vs. The Outrunners
  • Darby Allin vs. PAC
  • AEW Women’s World Championship: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Mercedes Moné
  • AEW World Championship Steel Cage match: “Hangman” Adam Page (c) vs. Samoa Joe
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship: Brodido (Bandido and Brody King) (c) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) (with Stokely)
  • $1,000,000 Trios Match: Kenny Omega and Jurassic Express (“Jungle” Jack Perry and Luchasaurus) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) and Josh Alexander
  • Casino Gauntlet Match for inaugural AEW National Championship: TBA
  • No DQ match for AEW TNT Championship: Kyle Fletcher (c) (with Don Callis) vs. Mark Briscoe

WrestleZone will have full coverage of AEW Full Gear as it airs on Saturday, November 22.
