MLW Moving League Headquarters Out of New York

MLW is officially leaving New York and relocating its headquarters to Charleston, South Carolina.

The Post and Courier reported the news ahead of MLW’s upcoming event, MLW x Don Gato Tequila: Live Special, set for November 20 at the Charleston Music Hall. MLW founder and president Court Bauer confirmed the move, saying, “Charleston isn’t just hosting Major League Wrestling anymore — it’s home. I’m thrilled to officially announce that MLW is moving its league headquarters to Charleston, South Carolina.”

Bauer, who grew up in New York and once worked for WWE as a writer, said the decision made sense both historically and financially. “Charleston has real wrestling lineage, and it also has one of the strongest, healthiest business sectors in the country right now. The city is booming tech, hospitality, entertainment everything is on the rise…. This is a city with heritage and momentum and that’s a rare combination.”

He also highlighted the South’s connection to classic wrestling and felt Charleston matches MLW’s identity. “Charleston was an easy choice for us. The South is where the soul of wrestling lives… This city takes wrestling seriously… and it deserves a league that calls it home.”

Bauer added, “We’re not just setting up an office; we’re planting roots… Charleston will be our hub, our production base and the launchpad for everything we do going forward.” He said the move echoes wrestling’s old territorial days, where each region had its own style.

“Each territory used to have its own feel… We want to bring that sense of identity back… This is a city that knows how to tell stories, how to throw a show and how to make people feel something.” Bauer also believes the move will boost Charleston’s economy. “Fans are already coming in from out of state… That’s good for Charleston now, and it’s only going to grow from here.”
