Triple H believes he’s the caretaker of the pro wrestling business.
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H gave Complex a tour of the WWE Headquarters on the new episode of On Display. Talking about the title belts displayed in the HQ, Triple H stated that they represent the history of the business.
Triple H said that he feels a strong sense of honoring that history and called himself the caretaker of the business.
“The most important things to me are family, and I wouldn’t have any of them without this business. So, I think the title belts, to me, represent the pinnacle of this business, and, for me, it’s honoring that history. I feel a strong sense of, in some manner, being the caretaker of that business. It’s about so much more than finances and TV contracts and deals and all that stuff, because at the end of the day, none of that exists without the other,” Triple H said.
Later in the feature, Triple H reiterated his remarks, sharing that he hopes whoever takes over for him has as much passion for that element as he does.
“I see myself as—and there’s a lot of people that are part of that, don’t get me wrong—but I see myself as the custodian of the history of this and its protection going forward, long after I’m here or not a part of it,” Triple H added. “Hopefully, whoever steps into that next generation of it has that same value of it.”
Triple H Highlights One Of His Favorite Parts Of His Job In WWE
Triple H has been WWE’s Chief Content Officer since September 2022, and during a recent interview on the All-In Podcast, he addressed whether he had any creative friction with the superstars.
Triple H stated that creative discussions with the talent never cause any friction but only create a partnership. He also said that having such conversations with the talents is his favorite part of the job.
“One of the favorite parts of my job is to sit down in a room with talent and say, ‘Where do we wanna go? Where do we wanna go with you? How do we wanna get there?’ It’s not the conversation of, ‘Well, I wanna be the champion,’ Okay, everybody does. ‘What is your story and how do we tell it? And who here of these other talent can have a story that goes against your arc, to combine with their arc to tell a great story, right?’
