Hulk Hogan’s Widow Shuts Down Ric Flair’s Claims That ‘Street Drugs’ Caused His Death

Ric Flair‘s recent statement that “street drugs” led to the death of WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is now being disputed by his widow.

Last week, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair appeared on the Doubl3 Coverage podcast. While discussing the death of Hulk Hogan, Flair claimed that Hogan’s untimely death was actually due to “street drugs.”

After his quotes picked up traction online, Flair took to social media to clarify his statement, but also to double down on his statement, tweeting out:

“There Seems To Be Some Controversy Over My Remarks That Street Drugs Killed Hulk Hogan. I Only Was Repeating What I Know To Be A Fact Through Family Members. After 11 Back Surgeries, Hip Replacements, Knee Replacements, Shoulder Replacement, And Two Neck Surgeries, I Am Sure The Pain Was Unbearable. A Doctor As I Know Can Only Prescribe So Much Pain Medication Under Medical Guidelines.

“I’ve Been Told That All They Did Was To Help Him Not To Hurt Him. To Help Him Get Through The Night And The Pain. Eventually That Catches Up With You As We Know With Everybody. He Was My Friend, A Man I Respected, And I’m Only Reporting What I’ve Been Told. Nothing More, Nothing Less.

“This Was Not An Attempt To Demean Hulk Hogan Or His Legacy. I Have Always Referred To Him As Being One Of The Two Biggest Stars In The Industry, Himself And Steve Austin. I Apologize If People Misunderstood My Statement. Hulkamania Forever,” Ric Flair said in a post.

However, Flair’s statements are now being disputed by Hulk Hogan’s widow, Sky Hogan.

What led to Hulk Hogan’s death?

Following Flair’s statement, TMZ Sports reached out to Hulk Hogan’s widow, Sky Hogan. When asked about Flair’s comments, Sky issued the following statement: “That didn’t happen at all.”

Sky would also deny the fact that Flair spoke with Hogan the day before his death, noting that the WWE Hall of Famer was under constant care of the Morton Plant Hospital in Florida. In regards to the medication taken before his death, Sky stated that the only change to his medication came following his neck procedure to make sure whatever he was on didn’t impact his lungs.

Flair hasn’t responded to Sky’s statement as of this writing. Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.

UPDATE: Shortly after the publication of this article, Flair took to social media to respond to Sky Hogan’s statement, tweeting out the following statement:

“Okay Sky! I Got Bad Information According To You, I Should Have Never Mentioned It. I Have Known Hogan Since 1979. Let’s Just Move Past This And Concentrate On His Legacy. Period, End Of Story. Let’s PRESERVE HIS LEGACY Rather Than Dwell On Any Negative Energy. I Repeat- Hulkamania Forever,” Ric Flair said in a post.
