There’s an unfortunate update on Darby Allin following his match last week on AEW Dynamite.
The former TNT Champion squared off against Kevin Knight in their Continental Classic Gold League match on the Thanksgiving Eve edition of Dynamite. Darby took several dangerous bumps during the bout, including a Coast-to-Coast dropkick.
During last night’s Dynamite broadcast, the commentary team noted that Darby Allin had been hospitalized after his match against Kevin Knight, with more details expected on this week’s AEW Collision.
Bryan Alvarez (via F4Wonline.com) provided additional information about Darby’s medical status on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.
“What happened was he got hurt in the Kevin Knight match last week,” Alvarez said. “The spot that looked the scariest was the Coast-to-Coast Dropkick. He got smashed with that move. I don’t know if that’s the move where he got hurt, but he got hurt.
“He was in the hospital for a while, but they did clear him because he ended up going home. So he can travel. The impression I was given was they’re going to find out more on Collision. He might stay in the tournament, and he might not. They have to figure it out in the next few days, depending on how he’s doing.”
Kevin Knight took on Kyle Fletcher in the Continental Classic Gold League last night on AEW Dynamite. Fans can catch up on everything that went down during the show here.
