Bryan Danielson says Brie Bella wants their children to acknowledge her as a wrestler and not just their mother.
During a recent appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, former AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson was asked about a possible return to the squared circle for his wife, Brie Bella.
“Yeah, only in certain contexts,” Bryan responded. “She doesn’t want to come back and do a singles run or anything like that. If she comes back, she would want to do it with Nicole. But I think there’s something in her too, and I can appreciate this, because our kids see her as just a mom, just a mom, as if that isn’t the hardest job in the world. Part of her, I think, has a desire to have the kids see her in that light too.”
“I didn’t realize it until later, how amazing my mom was, right in the sense of, okay, we didn’t have any money. She was a single mom, was working two jobs, going to college. I don’t know if it was my junior year or senior year of high school. She was going on a walk with a friend, and she just collapsed from exhaustion. Had to be taken to the hospital, to the emergency room. She was somebody who probably needed food stamps, but we lived in a small town, she didn’t want to (use them), she was ashamed. She didn’t want to go to the grocery store and pay with food stamps, all these sorts of things.”
Brie Bella is hopeful for one last run in wrestling
Speaking on an episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella opened up about wanting to have one final run in wrestling, regardless of where it takes place.
“I think there is definitely a last run in me,” Brie said. “I’m at the age and I’m strong, and I think it’s because I’m working out so hard and I’m feeling good. I’m like, there’s for sure a last run in me. Wherever it may take me, wherever it may be, I hope it’s with you, wherever that is. Who knows? Whether it’s for one night or 200 nights, we’ll see.”
Brie had her last WWE match as a full-time performer in October 2018. She made a one-off appearance as a participant in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match.
