John Cena recently opened up about the first time he ever drank, and revealed it was with a WWE icon, leaving him very drunk.
During a recent appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, Cena opened up about the first time he ever had alcohol. He mentioned that he was 26 when he drank, and that it was with The Undertaker, at his behest, and that he wanted to cherish the moment with him.
“I have this wise figure who is very stoic, doesn’t say a lot, welcomes me in,” Cena said. “I understand why I don’t do this. But I also understand that I want to do this. I’m okay; I’m gonna give this a try, and I’m so glad I did. Because in that one conversation, I see us at that bar, some of the lessons he gave still stick with me.”
Cena went on to say that the two things he vividly remembered from the night are to “always take care of your crew,” and to “never say goodbye.” He then joked that he got “so hammered” during the moment, but still remembered how important both the life lessons were to him today.
