WWE NXT Results:

Highlights from NXT Deadline are shown.

The Ruler’s Back!

The New NXT Champion Oba Femi notes that true power doesn’t bend, break, beg, it stands still and watches the world revolve around it. This is true power (Femi points to himself). Femi puts over the former champion Ricky Saints. With that, Femi quips that NXT wasn’t the same without the Ruler on top. The title belongs to Femi. Femi is done with Ricky Saints. At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Femi will stand across the ring from WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Rhodes will not see the future standing in front of him; he will see the here and now. Ricky Saints inturupts.

Saints puts over Femi, but he has no intention of stepping back. Saints want his title back. They are 1-1, so Saints wants a rematch for the championship. Je’Von Evans is out next. Evans says he doesn’t want to wait till January to have his title match. Evans wants his title match tonight. Saints steps in and asks, ” What’s the rush? Saints tries to convince Evans to wait. Evans says he isn’t the future, he’s the right now. Ain’t nobody touching him at the age of 21? Femi starts to say no. Saints and Evans call Femi scary. Femi reminds Evans that Evans has never beaten him. Femi accepts.

Grade: B

Good segment, but this writer hates that Evan’s title match is happening tonight. What’s the point of that? I don’t think anyone wants to see Evans vs. Rhodes at SNME. So is Evans just wasting his title match? Or is Evans going to win (which is fine), but why here and now?

Kelani Jordan vs. Jordynne Grace

Jordan and Grace fight in the entrance way before Grace gets to the ring. When the bell finally rings, Grace body slams Jordan. Jordan tries to fight back, but Jordan runs into a Michinoku Driver from Grace. Jordan kicks out. Grace misses a Vader bomb, which allows Jordan to work over Grace’s leg. Jordan and Grace trade counters on the apron. Jordan manages to slam Grace’s knee into the apron.

After the break, Jordan attempts a chair shot, but ends up eating a spinebuster. After a series of reversals outside the ring, Grace sends Jordan into the ring steps. Grace crushes Jordan with a Vader Bomb off the steps. Grace picks up a chair, but the referee takes it away. Jordan superkicks Grace off the steps. Grace crashes through the barricade! Jordan sends Grace into the ring and lands a 450 slash for the win.

Winner- Kelani Jordan

Grade: B-

Entertaining match. Grace and Jordan ramped up their intensity here, and it led to a hard-hitting contest. Jordan is coming into her own as a heel. Didn’t have that on the good ‘ol bingo card for 2025. Grace has strung together a series of good matches, but she doesn’t win anything ever. It’s bizarre at this point.

Women’s North American Championship Open Challenge: Blake Monroe (c) vs. TBA

Monroe grabs a mic and notes how much the women’s locker room looks up to her. With the holidays coming up, Monroe is in a giving mood. Monroe wants to give back to the less fortunate and host an open challenge. Most of the NXT Women’s locker room walks out on the stage. Thea Hail attacks Monroe from behind. Hail locks Monroe in the Kimura. Monroe taps. Hail celebrates as if she’s won the championship. Monroe rolls out of the ring clutching her championship.

No Contest

Grade: C

Why not just have the match? This was a hat on a hat.

Shiloh Hill vs. Lexis King

King tries to attack Hill from behind. Hill dumps King over the top. Hill lights up King. King takes down Hill and lands a corner splash. King superkicks Hill. Hill takes out his false tooth and hands it to the referee. Hill fires up and sends King flying with a back body drop followed by a modified neck breaker for the win.

Winner- Shiloh Hill

Grade: C+

Solid debut but nothing particularly special here.

The Greatest North American

NXT North American Champion Ethan Page gloats about being better than everyone. Page dumps on the locker room for being too concerned with making TikToks and getting a finger-pointing photo with their childhood favorite. With John Cena leaving, there will be a void that needs to be filled by a man with a giant ego. The lights go out, and Tony D’Angelo appears behind Page. D’Angelo spinebusters Page.

Grade: B

Great promo. Not sure if this means D’Angelo won’t get involved in the main event, but it throws us all off the scent if that’s the direction this is heading.

Wren Sinclair w/Kendall Grey vs. Sol Ruca

Grey is in control early. Ruca fires up and notices Zaria watching from the crowd. Ruca gets the win after a Sol Snatcher.

Winner- Sol Ruca

After the match, Zaria walks off. Ruca follows.

Grade: C+

Fun, but quick match.

Fatal Influence

NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne puts over Grey as a challenger. Jayne tells Grey that potential doesn’t win championships. 2025 was the year of Jacy Jayne; she went from being overlooked to the most dominant Women’s Champion. Grey says she’s going to defy the odds. No one expects Grey to beat Jayne… But Grey reminds Jayne that no one expected Jayne to beat Stephanie Vaquer either. Everyone bickers. Sinclair wants to take Fallon Henley‘s title, too. Henley decks Grey. Fatal Influence beats down Grey and Sinclair.

Grade: C+

Jayne’s promo here was good, but entirely too long. Sometimes you have to know when you’ve got ’em and when to let them go. This segment devolved into a dialogue that was written by a 12-year-old. This would have been more effective as a backstae segment with a beatdown after.

NXT Championship Match: Oba Femi (c) vs. Je’Von Evans

Evans lands a few strikes after a struggle. Femi floors Evans with one right hand. Bouncy kick by Evans. Femi kicks out. Femi works over Evans. Evans dropkicks Femi out of the ring. Femi catches Evans during a dive, but gets sent into the ring apron by Evans. After the break, Femi charges at Evans and gets sent flying over the commentary desk. Femi is almost counted out. Evans crushes Femi with two splashes. Femi kicks out! Evans and Femi trade strikes. Femi rolls out.

Evans lands a dive. Evans springboards into a nasty elbow strike by Femi. Evans German Suplexes Femi. Femi gets to his feet and runs into a cutter from Evans! Evans tries another bouncy kick, but Femi lands a nasty European uppercut. Evans kicks out. Evans surprises Femi with two cutters. As Evans goes for the pin, Someone pulls Evans out of the ring. The camera pans, and it’s Ricky Saints! Evans dives onto Saints and lays in a few punches. Evans rolls in and gets turned inside out with a lariat. Fall from Grace by Femi. Femi pins Evans.

Winner and STILL NXT Champion, Oba Femi!

Grade: B+

These two may be wrestling soulmates. Femi and Evans always deliver in the ring, with stiff shots and big power moves. Femi either loves or hates Evans, because he lays his stuff in stiff anytime they are in the ring. The Saints heel turn was obviously coming, but this writer doesn’t think they needed to sacrifice Evan’s winning Iron Survivor to the altar of a Saints heel turn. Don’t want to sound defeatist, but we could have had this awesome Femi/Evans match without it being for the championship. Hell, make a tag match and allow Saints to turn on Evans there. At least in that case, Evans still gets his big PLE match against Femi.

WWE NXT Review:

NXT churned out an uneven show with a mix of ok to excellent matches and one overly verbose promo. The Saints heel turn is the right direction for the Absolute One, but how we got there didn’t do upstart Je’Von Evans any favors and throws the New Year’s Evil main event into doubt. No disrespect to the people in the fatal four-way to crown a new number one contender, but Femi vs. Evans is and always will be a money match. It’s odd to give it away on NXT TV. What did you think of the show? Let us know in the comments!
